How to Window Swap Funko Pops

Have you ever heard of window swapping and wondered how to window swap your Funko Pops? Look no further, because in this post, we’ll find out how to window swap Funko Pops and show you exactly how to give your Pop boxes a refreshed look or have them autographed.

Why Window Swap Funko Pops?

First, let’s define what window swapping is. It’s a technique used by collectors to swap the window boxes of two different Funko Pops to refresh an old or damaged box.

And the best part, it’s pretty easy, as long as you’re really careful. I’ve done it a couple of times to replace damaged windows or to have pops autographed.

What Do I Need to Window Swap Funko Pops?

How Do You Swap a Funko Pop Window?

The process is simple, all you need is a sharp blade, glue, and a few hours in the freezer. By putting your pop box in the freezer for a few hours, the window will come out super easily.

Then you can use a blade to remove any spots that are still stuck and apply small dots of glue along the edge of the cardboard window area.

But be careful, as you don’t want to put too much glue or get too close to the edge, as it could spread onto the window when you press them together.

I prefer to use gel superglue since it’s easier to control. Liquid forms can run and turn the whole thing into a nightmare.

This step requires you to be really careful and slow. Fold the window together (without damaging it), and slide it into the box. Position the crease in the correct location and line it all up as best you can without touching it to any of the glue yet.

Once it’s lined up, press down where the glue is and hold for a few seconds at each spot until the entire window is in place.

It’s important to note that window swapping is not for everyone and it’s important to be aware of the risks involved. Some collectors may not be comfortable with the idea of altering their figures in any way.

Conclusion

Window swapping is a fun and exciting way to give your Funko Pops a new look. By following these simple steps, you’ll be able to breathe new life into your older boxes or get your Funko Pop windows autographed if you are not able to go to the event in person. So, grab your sharp blade, glue, and a few hours in the freezer and get ready to give your collection a fresh new look with window swapping.
